Valandre Chauca knocks down 8 triples, leads FamilyMart-Enderun to 1st win

FamilyMart-Enderun finally broke through, drubbing AMA Online Education, 116-94 in the 2019 PBA D-League Thursday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

Valandre Chauca hit eight triples on his way to 24 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists. Meanwhile, five others got to double-digits to help the young Titans nab their first win in the developmental ranks and halt a six-game losing skid.

“We never doubted that we’re gonna get at least one win,” said coach Pipo Noundou. “All the losses we had were just by single digits. It means we’re close but with the lack of experience, we just had to adjust. And we took the challenge.”

Richard Escoto tallied a double-double with his 17 points and 10 rebounds. John Vidal scored 10 of his 17 in the fourth period, while Mark Gatdula had 14.

Francis Sacundo nailed 13 points and eight rebounds, as Marvin Hayes had himself 12 and 11.

Family Mart-Enderun took over in the final canto, breaking away from a close 81-78 affair. They erupted for 35 points in the payoff period to improve to 1-6 in the Aspirants Group.

Joshua Munzon finished with 30 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists, and seven steals for AMA, who fell to 2-6 in the standings.
