Purefoods suffered a tough blow in its clash with Platinum Karaoke in Leg 2 of the PBA 3×3 inaugurals, Wednesday at the Ynares Sports Arena.
The Tender Juicy Titans lost Val Acuna barely three minutes into the match following a collision with Chris De Chavez underneath the rim.
Play was stopped at the 7:34-mark when both cagers dropped on the floor, with the 35-year-old struggling to get back on his feet as he was shaken up.
Replays showed that the 6-foot-6 De Chavez inadvertently collided with the 35-year-old underneath the rim as he appeared to go after Jed Mendoza.

Acuña was hurt so badly that he had to be stretchered out. He will be sent to the nearby hospital, according to the league.
That left Purefoods with only Mendoza, Joseph Eriobu, and Pao Javelona. The Titans lost, 16-21, in the rematch of Leg 1’s third-place game.
The team is now 0-2 in Pool C.
It remains to be seen if Acuña will still see action in their match with NorthPort tomorrow, where they are hoping to finish third in the group with a win.
