Nikka Medina and Alexandra Juangco of the Baby Tamaraws withstood Ateneo’s Celina Vergeire and Ady Lasala, 22-20, 21-19 win.
Chris Ann Susbilla and Dea Villamor of the Junior Warriors made quick work of Adamson University’s Mary Grace Borromeo and Ayesha Juegos, 21-9, 21-14, in the other match for the day.
Nazareth School of National University drew an opening day bye will see action Sunday with games against FEU and Adamson University.
High school beach volleyball is introduced by the league as a demonstration sport this season.
