UP to train in Serbia, Croatia

With expectations high for them for the upcoming UAAP Season 81 Men’s Basketball Tournament, the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons are leaving no stones unturned in their preparations.

For the next few weeks, the Fighting Maroons will be in Serbia and Croatia to figure in tune-up games against several Serbian and Croatian professional teams. In addition, the team will enter a camp that will hopefully help them reach their peak condition before entering the UAAP.

“This training camp should push us to be in the height of our condition. After this, we have at least a month to sustain it,” said third-year Fighting Maroons head coach Bo Perasol.

“We hope to benefit from the tune up games against Serbian and Croatian professional teams, as well.”

Composing the Fighting Maroons contingent are Paul Desiderio, Juan Gomez de Liano, Bright Akhuetie, Juan Gomez de Liano, Evyn Santiago, Diego Dario, JJ Espanola, David Murrell, Jd Tungcab, Jarrell Lim, Jun Manzo, Gelo Vito, Jan Jaboneta, Will Gozum, Jerson Prado, and Pio Longa.

Joining Perasol in his staff are Ricky Dandan, Rodney Santos, Poch Juinio, and Mo Gingerich.
