UE gets Sarangani’s Orin Catacutan, one-and-done Brian Enriquez

University of the East just got a couple of players to help its rebuild for the next two seasons.

Jack Santiago was able to secure the commitments of winger Orin Catacutan and utility player Brian Enriquez.

Catacutan is a 6-foot-2 guard who played for NAASCU champions St. Clare College of Caloocan. He will have to sit out one year before being eligible to play in UAAP Season 84.

Catacutan has three years of eligibility remaining.

Just 21 years young, Catacutan has already made waves in the MPBL, having played for Valenzuela, Muntinlupa, and Sarangani during the 2019-20 Chooks-to-Go Lakan Season. He posted norms of 17.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.4 steals in nine games for the Marlins.

On the other hand, Enriquez is a 6-foot-3 player who can play three positions.

Enriquez is a one-and-done player for Season 83, as he has already graduated from Division II school William Woods University. In his senior year, he averaged 4.8 points and 2.4 rebounds per game.

Besides the two, UE also secured the commitments of guards Josiah Alcantara and Kyle Paranada, brother of former Adamson Soaring Falcon Nico.

The Red Warriors ended Season 82 at 7th place with a 4-10 slate.

The development was first reported by SPIN.ph.
