UAAP postpones November 17 events in Manila due to adverse weather

The University Athletics Association of the Philippines (UAAP) has announced the postponement of all its scheduled events in Manila on Sunday, November 17, citing unfavorable weather conditions that will be brought about by Typhoon Pepito.

Among the affected events are the collegiate men’s football matches set to take place at UP Diliman Field in Quezon City.

The day was slated to kick off at 4:00 PM with De La Salle University facing off against the University of the Philippines, followed by a 6:30 PM clash between Adamson University and University of the East.

The final round and awarding ceremony of the UAAP Chess Tournaments – which would have taken place at Adamson Gym in Manila – have been deferred to a later date.

Junior High School Boys Basketball games slated to be played at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan are also affected.

Similarly, the High School Girls’ Volleyball matches scheduled at Paco Arena in Manila have been moved.

In addition to these events, the opening of the Table Tennis Tournaments at Home Court, Ayala Malls Manila Bay has been postponed.

UAAP Season 87 Table Tennis Commissioner Pong Ducanes is hopeful to commence the tournament on Monday, November 18, provided that weather conditions improve.

Finally, the third round of the Collegiate Beach Volleyball Tournaments scheduled at SM Sands by the Bay in Pasay has also been moved.
