UAAP 85 MVB: Ybanez-led UST bucks slow start, waylays Ateneo


University of Santo Tomas recovered from a first set downer to clip Ateneo de Manila University, 21-25, 28-26, 25-21, 25-21, for its third straight win in the UAAP Season 85 men’s volleyball tournament at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan, Wednesday.

The Golden Spikers kept in step with Far Eastern University at second behind a 5-1 win-loss slate while the Blue Eagles fell to 2-4 at fifth along with University of the East.

UST will next face the Red Warriors on Saturday while Ateneo will clash with winless University of the Philippines on Sunday. Both games will be played at the same San Juan arena.
