Troy Rike attends first practice with Gilas Cadets

After several hiccups in his arrival to the Philippines, Filipino-American Troy Rike has finally landed in the country and has attended the Gilas Pilipinas Cadets’ practice, Monday evening at the Meralco Gym in Pasig City.

The 6-foot-7 forward was expected to arrive at an earlier date, but his graduation from college delayed his trip. Rike is a product of NCAA Division I school Wake Forest University, where he played for four years.

Rike is expected to make his debut for the Cadets on Thursday at the FilOil Flying V Preseason Cup, as the youth team faces the EAC Generals.

The 22-year-old Rike, who hails from San Francisco, California, joined the likes of Kobe Paras, Ricci and Prince Rivero, Thirdy Ravena, Kai Sotto, Kenneth Tuffin, JJay Alejandro, Arvin Tolentino, and Matt Nieto in the practice session.

Isaac Go, Will Gozum, and Juan Gomez De Liano were also present but were on the sidelines, clad in street clothes.
