Bianca Pagdanganan suffered a heartbreaking exit in the 2022 Gainbridge LPGA tournament after needing three more shots on her final hole of the day, Saturday morning (Manila time) at the Boca Rio Golf Club in Boca Raton, Florida.
Pagdanganan actually just needed at least a par to survive getting the cut in No. 9, but instead, she had a hard time tackling the said hole she finished just the other on the required number of hits.
The second round went on just like the previous day for the reigning Southeast Asian Games champion as she once again settled for pars along the first four holes, starting with no. 10. Her fifth of the morning then saw her first birdie of the match, before she slipped back to an even-par at the end of her backside foray with a bogey off No. 17.
Danger then followed after just his second hole at the turn when she doubled on No. 2; nonetheless, Pagdanganan gave herself the lifeline with her second birdie out of No. 8.
However, tragedy on No. 9 then saw her miss the cut on her first tournament of the year.
Elsewhere, movements across the field saw USA’s Danielle Kang push New Zealand’s Lydia Ko to a share of the lead at 11-under 133. Fil-Japanese Yuka Saso and England’s Jodi Shadoff are just four strokes adrift of the two co-leaders.
Pagdanganan will try to gain entry into the following tournament in the inaugural LPGA Drive On Championship starting February 3 in Fort Myers, still in Florida,
