Total U-13 captures Philippine YFL title

Total concluded its remarkable campaign this year with a 1-0 victory over Malaya, securing the championship in the Under-13 Age Division of the 2023 edition of the Philippine Youth Football League during the final match day last November 19 at the Greenfields Football Fields in Santa Rosa, Laguna.

Total finished with a record of 13 wins, a draw, and no losses, accumulating 40 total points. This achievement surpassed Mendiola for the title, as the latter garnered 39 points with a 13-0-1 slate—the sole setback being a 2-0 defeat to Total.

The YFL, an organized youth league sanctioned by the Philippine Football Federation, offers high-level football competition to elite clubs in Luzon. Its primary goal is to promote grassroots growth and development for Filipino youth.

Apart from Total, other clubs in the YFL include Manila Soccer Academy (MSA), G8 Academy, Malaya, Aspire, Apueasto Bueno, Kaya, and Arayat. Total secured victories in all its matches in the single round-robin format.

Total’s U-7, U-9, and U-11 teams also delivered solid performances in this year’s YFL, with the U-7 finishing third overall, the U-9 placing second, and the U-11 squad claiming the 5th position overall.

Founded in 2019, Total is a youth football club based in Calamba, Laguna. It has rapidly become one of the country’s fastest-rising youth football clubs, providing international-level football skills mastery and training to youth players aged 4 to 17.

Ousman Jeng, Total’s Program Director, envisions the future of Philippine football in the high-quality training available to Filipino players at the grassroots level. He stated, “Our vision is to make world-class football training available to all Filipino youth, regardless of their socio-economic background. Imagine the potential—the difference that can make for every child. When their time comes, they will be unstoppable.”
