Tolomia triple-double helps Phoenix regain top spot

Mike Tolomia made his imprint anew, as the Phoenix Accelerators coasted to an easy 109-70 victory over the AMA Online Education Titans to reaffirm their spot at the top of the 2016 PBA D-League Foundation Cup, Thursday evening at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

The FEU playmaker dazzled and recorded the third triple-double in PBA D-League history, with 23 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Roger Pogoy, meanwhile, got it going from beyond the arc, going 6-of-12 on threes to wind up with 20 markers – 11 of which came in the Accelerators’ hot start.

The sniper nailed three treys in the opening frame to establish a dominant 34-13 edge in the wire-to-wire victory.

“The players are being responsible now and they’re getting ready for the important games. We’re happy that we’re sharing the ball. Nagsimula kay Mike and rest of the team followed,” said coach Eric Gonzales. “Bumabalik na kami sa dati.”
