TNT continues to revamp its squad, with the KaTropa acquiring athletic guard Ed Daquioag via trade with Rain or Shine, the PBA announced through social media on Tuesday afternoon.
The Elasto Painters, in return, got the rights to the KaTropa’s second round draft picks in 2020; 2021, which they got from the NorthPort Batang Pier; and 2022 from the San Miguel Beermen.
This now marks the second time in his young career that Daquioag has been traded. He was the Meralco Bolts’ pick in the 2016 Gilas draft; they later dealt him to Rain or Shine in 2017.
The 28-year-old was part of the Elasto Painters’ youth brigade along with Javee Mocon and Rey Nambatac. He averaged 6.2 points, 2.0 assists, and 1.8 rebounds in the 2019 Governors’ Cup.
Daquioag will now be joining a KaTropa side that is going through changes for the next season.
Last January 6, the flagship MVP franchise shipped Mike DiGregorio to the Alaska Aces for Simon Enciso in a deal where both teams swapped their 2023 second round picks as well.
