TNT continued to show the same level of success in competitive sports outside of basketball.
After taking the grand slam in PBA 3×3 and the PBA Governors’ Cup, the Tropang Giga conquered a familiar foe as their esports team dominated Ginebra, 3-0, in the grand finals to take the PBA Esports Bakbakan title on Monday at the Ayala Malls Circuit, Activity Center.
The match-up was a mirror of the recently concluded PBA Governor’s Cup finals where TNT also emerged as champions.
Led by MLBB streamer Jason “King Jasro” Robante, TNT slipped past Northport in the semi-finals before sweeping Ginebra in the finals.
Tropang Giga delivered a comeback win in Game 1, negating a 7k net worth deficit, before displaying finesse in Game 2 to reach match point.
Sindel then took over in Game 3, finishing with six kills and eight assists against one death to catapult TNT to the title. He went on to nab the grand finals MVP award.
“Shoutout po sa tatay ko. Shoutout sa pamilya ko. At shoutout sa mga kakampi ko, kung hindi dahil sakanila, hindi namin ito makukuha at hindi ako magiging MVP,” said Sindel, one of the revelations in the historic PBA Esports tourney that also featured PBA players, fans, students, influencers and ex-pro gamers.
The PBA Esports Bakbakan was participated by all PBA Teams with teams featuring two PBA players, two social media influencers, one college player and three fans taken from the draft last February.
