Thompson does it again as Ginebra goes to 2-0 vs TNT

SMART CLARK GIGA CITY – Scottie Thompson was heroic once more as Ginebra downed TNT anew, 92-90, to take a 2-0 lead in the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup Wednesday night at the SMARt 5G-powered AUF Sports and Cultural Center.

The do-it-all guard emulated his deed that sent the Gin Kings to the Last Dance, knocking down a corner triple — albeit from the right this time — to give his side the 87-85 lead with 30.5 seconds remaining in the game.

LA Tenorio, who was struggling all night, then made five of the six free throws he was given afterwards to help the Barangay complete the comeback from as much as 15 points down in the third quarter.

Stanley Pringle led Ginebra with 34 points, eight assists, and six rebounds.

Game Three is on Friday.
