Right after Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas’ practice ended on Wednesday night, Terrence Romeo called on Kiefer Ravena and former college rival Jeron Teng for a game of one-on-one-on-one. And it might have been the best un-televised pick-up game in recent memory, as all three played their hearts out to one up each other.
Though the PBA is still on-going, Romeo made sure to join the first official practice of the FIBA Asia Champions Cup-bound Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas.
“Pinangako ko kasi na basta tumawag yung Pilipinas, pupunta talaga ako,” shared Romeo, who last played for Gilas in the Asia Cup.
But there were plenty of new faces in the pool for this tournament. And the 25-year-old was proud to see a lot hopefuls join the National Team.
“Sabi ko nga at least maraming bagong players na matututo ng dribble drive,” said Romeo.
One of those new faces is Jeron Teng, a former collegiate rival with whom he has had a colorful history.
Safe to say, the two let bygones be bygones, as Romeo expressed his excitement over the possibility of teaming up with him.
“Talagang talented yung bata, magaling at mataas ang IQ,” said the four-year PBA veteran.
“Kahit sino maging teammate niya magiging madali sa kanila basta makuha lang yung chemistry.”
But even if his spot is not guaranteed, Romeo is doing everything he can to help the team.
“Gusto ko talaga basta para sa bansa. At least alam ng mga tao na pag dating sa tawag ng country, hindidi ako magdadalawang isip.”
