Stephen Holt will miss the PBA Season 48 Draft Combine.
The presumptive top pick has informed the Commissioner’s Office that he won’t be able to take part in the two-day event due to a family emergency.
Arguably the most experienced in the class, Holt was among those noticeably absent in Day 1 of the Combine at the Gatorade Hoops Center in Mandaluyong.
Missing as well were PBA 3×3 standouts Keith Datu and Brandon Bates, University of the Philippines’ Zavier Lucero, and Ateneo’s BJ Andrade.
University of the East product Luis Villegas, former Arellano forward Cade Flores, and ex-KBL import Christian David were also not in attendance.
Lucero, Andrade, and Villegas are still recovering from ACL injuries.
Still, 111 out of the 128 aspirants attended the Combine opener, led by Deschon Winston, Ricci Rivero, Fran Yu, and MPBL star Kyt Jimenez.
The Draft is set on Sunday, September 17, at Market! Market! in Taguig.
