2018 FIBA 3X3 World Cup

Stanley Pringle comes in as a surprise for Philippines in 3×3 World Cup

In what could be considered as a surprise, GlobalPort Batang Pier main man Stanley Pringle will headline Gilas Pilipinas in the FIBA 3X3 World Cup slated for June here in the Philippines.

The announcement was made on Sunday at the SMART Araneta Coliseum prior to the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters-Barangay Ginebra San Miguel tiff.

This will be the first time the California-born cager will don the country’s colors. He will serve as the team’s floor general in the showpiece that will run from June 8 to 12 at the Philippine Arena.

Pringle will be joining veteran internationalists in versatile forward Troy Rosario, two-way combo guard Roger Pogoy, and Filipino-German bruiser Christian Standhardinger.

Gilas is in Group C along with Russia, Brazil, and defending Asian 3×3 champions Mongolia.

The Gilas 3×3 team will be backed by Smart and Chooks-to-Go.
