Shintarou puts on show as E-Gilas wallops INA to take Game One

With Aljon ‘Shintarou’ Cruzin leading the charge, E-Gilas Pilipinas opened their FIBA Esports Open 2020 campaign with a dominant victory over Indonesia, 56-29, Friday evening.

E-Gilas dominated right from the get-go, eventually taking a 28-11 lead to cap off the first half.

But the Philippine contingent did not take its foot off the gas just yet.

Rial ‘Rial’ Polog, Jr. swished a trey in the 30-second mark of the third quarter, while Cruzin and Custer ‘Aguila’ Galas followed it up with their own respective triples to open the final canto. The trio hammered down E-Gilas’ biggest lead at 27 points, 50-23, with 3:20 left in the game.

Ray ‘GLORY_ID’ Antonio tried to stop the bleeding for Indonesia, but E-Gilas’ firepower was too much for them to put out. Shintarou capped the game with an in-your-face jam with 47 ticks left.

Eight-time ProAm champion Cruzin spearheaded the Philippines’ attack with 22 points, seven assists, and three boards.

Game Two takes place at 7:25 PM.
