Sheena Toring out for rest of UAAP Finals due to partial ACL tear

Sheena Toring has been sidelined for the remainder of the UAAP Season 85 women’s volleyball finals after sustaining a left knee injury late in the fifth set of Game 1 last Sunday.

During an attempt to block Thea Gagate from De La Salle University, who was leading 13-12 at the time, the National University middle blocker landed on Gagate’s foot.

As a result, she had to be stretchered off the court.

Multiple reports, citing NU athletic director Otie Camangian, confirm that Toring suffered a partial ACL tear.

In the ongoing Game 2, where the Lady Bulldogs are fighting desperately, Chams Maaya has started in Toring’s place.

The Lady Spikers emerged victorious in Game 1, with a score of 18-25, 25-22, 22-25, 25-21, 15-13.

Toring was recognized as the 2nd Best Middle Blocker in the previous season.
