Servania victorious via UD in Japan to stay undefeated

Filipino super bantamweight Genesis Servania (28-0 11KO) kept his undefeated record intact after defeating Alexander Espinoza (11-8-1, 10KO) of Venezuela in Kanagawa, Japan Sunday.

The reigning WBO Intercontinental champion at 122-pounds came out aggressively during the entire duration of their ten-round fight that saw “Azukal” coming out with a unanimous decision win against the former Olympian.

“Maraming salamat po sa lahat sa patuloy na suporta,” the Cebuano, who stretched his winning streak to 28 fights, said.

Servania’s cornerman and former boxer Mark Gil Melligen is satisfied with the 25 year old’s performance.

“Impressive naman ang performance ni [Genesis] at natuwa naman yung tao dito, magaling din kasi yung kalaban tsaka Olympian,” he told Tiebreaker Times via phone patch.

Melligen also revealed that their team is currently eyeing to challenge current WBA World Super Bantamweight champion Nehomar Cermeño (24-5-1, 14KO) by the year end, possibly in China.

“Sa ngayon, balik kami sa training. Plano namin lumaban sa December world WBA versus Cermeño sa China,” he said.

The Venezuelan world champion is set to defend his belt against Anurak Thisa of Thailand later this month.
