Sedrick Barefield will play in the EASL.
Bay Area announced on Tuesday that the 6-foot-2 Filipino-American guard will be their Asian import for the upcoming 2023 EASL Champions Week, scheduled from March 1 to 5 in Okinawa.
Barefield, who is a product of University of Utah, was initially set to play for P.League champion Taipei Fubon in the Easl.
The Braves loaned him to T1 League’s Tainan TSG but his stint there only lasted for one game.
The former Oklahoma City Blue player then joined Strong Group in the 32nd Dubai International Basketball Championship, putting up numbers of 14.0 points, 5.5 assists, and 3.0 rebounds per game.
In Bay Area, he gets to play alongside both Andrew Nicholson and Myles Powell.
Barefield and the Dragons will face Seoul SK on March 2 and Utsunomiya on March 3.
The top two teams in each group will advance to the final day on March 5.
Bay Area had interest in signing Jerom Lastimosa prior to signing Barefield but the Soaring Falcon was firmly committed to playing out his final year with Adamson University.
