Mock drafts just got busted.
Elite Filipino-American guard Sedrick Barefield has declared for the 2024 PBA Rookie Draft.
Barefield’s agent, Nadine Jamal — a partner of Phenom Basketball Clinic, submitted his documents to the PBA office in Pasig a day before the submission deadline.
Barefield will be a huge asset for PBA teams.
Standing at 6-foot-2, Barefield is best known for his scoring prowess.
He spent a year at Southern Methodist University before spending the last three years at Division I school University of Utah.
During his final year with the Runnin’ Utes, Barefield averaged 16.8 points and 3.8 assists per game.
After going undrafted in the 2019 NBA Draft, he played for the OKC Blue.
He then headed overseas.
Barefield went to Lithuania to play for Nevėžis Kėdainiai, then to Greece to play for Apollon Patras.
After another stint with OKC Blue, he went to Asia, signing with P.League+ clubs Taipei Fubon and Tainan TSG.
He also played for Bay Area in the EASL Champions’ Week and Strong Group during the 2023 Dubai International Basketball Championship.
With Barefield in the draft class, he will give Justine Baltazar a run for the top pick in the event.
