Sara Castaneda caps redemption campaign with MVP plum

The De La Salle University Lady Archers featured highly in the All-UAAP Season 81 Women’s Football Team.

But no one shone the brightest other than Sara Castañeda.

Castañeda, a national team stalwart who missed the entirety of the Season 80, was crowned as the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.

The 22-year-old was also adjudged as the Best Midfielder.

Joining her are teammates Natasha Lacson (Best Goalkeeper) and Shai Del Ocampo (Best Striker – 10 goals and Rookie of the Year).

The trio helped steer La Salle to the top of the table in the elimination round. The Lady Archers then copped their third-straight Women’s Football crown after a 2-0 win over the FEU Lady Tamaraws in the finale.

La Salle was hailed with the Fair Play Award.

Lady Tamaraw Hannah Pachejo completed the All-UAAP team as the Best Defender.
