Chery Tiggo star Dindin Santiago-Manabat will be a game-time decision when the Crossovers take on PLDT on Tuesday.
The two-time Shakey’s V-League MVP suffered a minor injury during a tune-up match, team manager Aaron Velez said during the Kumu x PVL press conference on Wednesday afternoon at F1 Hotel in Bonifacio Global City.
According to Velez, the 6-foot-2 opposite hitter sustained a left ankle sprain following a bad fall during the team’s spiking drill.
“She suffered a sprain during our tune-up game. Actually ano siya e, before the tune-up pa. Sa warm-up pa lang ng spiking so it’s very unfortunate,” said the head coach-turned-team manager.
“As per the physician, it’s a day-to-day assessment,” added Velez.
After winning the first professional title last year, Chery Tiggo — who missed the services of Jaja Santiago — struggled in the 2022 Open Conference.
The Crossovers barely made it into the playoffs after posting a 1-3 standing in Group A to finish at the fourth spot. In the playoffs, Chery Tiggo immediately bowed out after losing to Creamline in four sets in the quarterfinals.
The team eventually placed eighth after defeating Army-Black Mamba Energy Drink and losing to BaliPure in the 7th-9th classification phase.
“Definitely, we’re still going to give our best. However, Dindin just got injured so hopefully, she’ll recover in due time.”
