Ryan Monteclaro has been named as the new head coach of Adamson University’s women’s basketball team.
Having played for the Soaring Falcons from Season 73 to 77, Monteclaro is no stranger to the Adamson community, and the opportunity to give back to his Alma Mater as a coach has filled him with gratitude.
“I am happy and excited to be back in Adamson. This is a great opportunity and a privilege to work for Adamson. There is no guarantee, but we will surely work for it,” said the 31-year-old budding coach to Adamson.
Monteclaro replaces Brian Grospe, who steered the Lady Falcons to a 5-9 finish in UAAP Season 85.
The 3×3 specialist shared that he could not turn down the offer of the school, which was made by Big Boss Cement’s Gilbert Cruz. Cruz has been a second father to Monteclaro.
For Monteclaro, his appointment as head coach marks a full-circle moment. “Ever since my playing years, loyal ako sa Adamson,” he said.
And now, as the head coach of the Women’s Basketball team, Monteclaro is ready to guide his new team to victory.
Though there are no guarantees, Monteclaro is committed to working hard and doing everything he can to help the Lady Falcons succeed.
