Rogen Ladon set for podium finish

Olympian Rogen Ladon will look to shock Asia after picking up a split decision win over Kazakhstan’s Azat Mahmetov, Tuesday evening at the Jakarta International Expo.

With the win, the 24-year-old native of Bago, Negros Occidental will face Yutapong Tongdee of Thailand on Friday, August 31.

However, Ladon had to eke out this victory, taking a 3-2 decision to edge out the Kazakh.

Three judges scored the bout 29-28 for the Filipino. The other two judges had it 29-28 in favor of Mahmetov.

Ladon’s teammates Carlo Paalam and Eumir Marcial look to achieve the same feat on Wednesday, August 29.
