Rhenz Abando reaffirms commitment to UST

Less than 24 hours after being benched, Rhenz Abando expressed his commitment to University of Santo Tomas.

The 21-year-old made his statement to Growling Tigers head coach Aldin Ayo and IPEA director Fr. Jannel Abogado, OP, in a meeting held in the campus Thursday afternoon.

“He’s always been committed to UST. And in-affirm niya sa amin sa team na he’s here until the end of his collegiate career,” said Ayo.

Against UP, Abando was in street clothes and sitted far from UST’s bench.

Multiple sources have told Tiebreaker Times that multiple schools have tried to recruit Abando in-season.

With this, Abando, who is averaging 11.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks this season, will return this Saturday when UST takes on the NU Bulldogs.
