According to numerous reports on Tuesday afternoon, guard Jericho Cruz, who has reportedly been requesting the Rain or Shine brass for a trade, is now on his way out of the Elasto Painters’ roster.
Cruz is set to be dealt to the TNT Katropa in exchange for rookie Sidney Onwubere plus a 2018 first round pick, according to a report by Spin.ph. The trade papers are on their way to the Commissioner’s Office for approval.
The six-foot-one scoring guard, who has been with RoS since 2014, only played three games for the Elasto Painters this 2018 Philippine Cup and averaged just 2.0 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 1.7 assists.
Onwubere, on the other hand, will be heading to his third team. TNT shipped Jon Gabriel and a pick to Phoenix for Onwubere, the eighth overall pick in the draft.
The EAC Generals alumnus only saw action for the Texters and posted norms of 1.6 points and 2.2 rebounds.
If ever the trade papers get the nod immediately, Cruz can make his debut for the flagship MVP franchise tomorrow, Wednesday, February 14, when TNT face the GlobalPort Batang Pier.
