Japanese volleyball star Ran Takahashi has been named the newest brand ambassador for Akari, the electronics company announced last Thursday.
In their announcement, Akari also revealed that Takahashi will soon return to Manila for the launch of the company’s latest product, the “Ran Takahashi Turbo Fan.”
This partnership marks an exciting new chapter for both Takahashi and Akari.
“We officially welcome our newest brand ambassador, Ran Takahashi, to the Akari family,” the company shared in a Facebook post.
“We are extremely excited for this partnership, and we look forward to having Ran here in Manila soon so we can bring him closer to you.”
Takahashi, a 22-year-old outside hitter, recently helped Japan finish in seventh place at the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
He has become a fan favorite among Filipinos, particularly after playing in several Volleyball Nations League (VNL) legs held in the country after the pandemic.
The volleyball star was last in the Philippines during the Manila leg of the 2024 VNL in June.
Unfortunately, his appearance was cut short due to a knee injury that required him to return to Japan for treatment.
While Takahashi prepares for his return, the Chargers have been making waves in the Premier Volleyball League.
The team has dominated the Reinforced Conference, securing their seventh consecutive win yesterday to maintain their position at the top of the standings.
