Raizen confident that ONIC PH can make waves in Season 12

Dean “Raizen” Sumagui has finally moved on from Omega Esports.

Raizen has joined ONIC PH for its upcoming campaign in MPL Philippines Season 12, as the team announced on Friday evening.

The 19-year-old jungler is thrilled to have found a new home after staying with Omega Esports for the last four seasons, revealing that one of the main reasons why he opted to sign with ONIC PH is to get out of his comfort zone.

“Masaya po at excited kasi parang lumabas ako sa comfort zone ko e. Medyo matagal din ako sa Omega, apat na seasons. Masaya po,” Raizen said during MPL PH’s media day at the Gama Studios in Makati last Thursday.

Following an impressive rookie campaign in Season 8, Raizen was inserted into Omega Esports’ lineup and helped the team reach the grand finals where they lost to RSG Philippines. He also led the team to a bronze finish in the 2022 Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup.

Unfortunately, Raizen and the Smart-backed squad failed to replicate their magic in the succeeding seasons as they didn’t reach the finals in both Seasons 10 and 11.

Now with ONIC Esports, Raizen hopes to start fresh as he links up with the likes of Jomarie “Escalera” Delos Santos, Mark “Kramm” Rusiana, Frince “Super Frince” Ramirez, Kenneth “Nets” Barro, and Ralph “Rapidoot” Adrales.

The pride of Silang, Cavite bared that he is confident that ONIC PH can make waves in the upcoming MPL PH season.

“Yung synergy namin ngayon… tingin ko malakas yung synergy namin ngayon. Tapos ngayong season ng MPL, sure ako kayang-kaya namin [sumabay],” said Raizen.

“Yung pagpasok ko po sa sistema ng ONIC ano, yung iba po hindi naman bago pero may mga bago po ako natutunan. May mga sinabi po sila sa akin na pwedeng i-expect para hindi masira yung ano namin.”
