Dajuan Summers is set to reinforce Rain or Shine in the PBA Season 48 Commissioner’s Cup that commences next month.
The Elasto Painters announced the signing via social media Tuesday, marking the arrival of another former NBA cager in the upcoming conference.
Summers was drafted 35th overall by the Detroit Pistons in 2009. The 6-foot-8 forward would go on to spend a total of four seasons in the Association, where he also suited up for the New Orleans Hornets and the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Georgetown product then became a journeyman afterwards, making stops in various parts of Europe, the Americas, and even in Asia.
Coming off the BIG3 in the US, he now joins a Rain or Shine squad that’s been building for the future following a successful haul in the last Rookie Draft.
Before making the acquisition of Summers public, the club announced the signing of Sherwin Concepcion to a one-season deal.
Their inking of the 27th overall pick came about two weeks after locking up Luis Villegas and Keith Datu, the team’s third and fourth picks, to three-year deals.
RoS has been stockpiling younger talents, especially with their frontcourt led by Beau Belga and Mark Borboran not getting any younger.
Just recently, the E-Painters let go of veteran Jewel Ponferrada as he was traded to TNT alongside Henry Galinato in exchange for Dave Marcelo and the Tropang Giga’s first round pick in the Season 50 draft.
