Rain or Shine set to ship injured Galinato to TNT

Rain or Shine has made its first move following the 2023 PBA Draft.

The Elasto Painters are trading Henry Galinato to TNT in exchange for a future first-round pick.

This development was initially reported by Spin.ph and later confirmed by Tiebreaker Times.

Galinato was the 15th overall pick in the draft. Prior to the draft, Rain or Shine and TNT had already reached an agreement that if Rain or Shine acquired Galinato, he would be sent to TNT in exchange for a 2026 draft pick.

TNT chose to abstain from participating in the entire draft.

This trade appears to be favorable for Rain or Shine, as sources from UP indicated that the 6-foot-6 robust big man from the University of the Philippines is still ‘a year away’ from being ready for PBA competition due to a persistent knee injury.

Galinato had only played a few games for UP during UAAP Season 85.

Nevertheless, at just 26 years old, Galinato has the potential to become a productive role player in the PBA if things go well. If not, TNT will have wasted a draft pick.
