Rain or Shine has begun signing up its picks from the recent PBA Draft.
The Elasto Painters have inked Felix Lemetti and Ef Escandor to separate deals, the team announced through its social media pages on Friday.
Head coach Yeng Guiao was present on both signings, together with lead deputy Caloy Garcia and team manager Jireh Ibanes.
Drafted eighth overall, Lemetti was signed to a three-year contract as he’s seen to add depth and flexibility to a maturing point guard rotation.
The Fil-Swede guard was a surprise pick in the first round but the coaches liked what they saw during the workouts, plus his impressive resumé.
“Looking at his credentials, he was starting for a Division 1 school. We cannot go wrong with that,” said Guiao of the 25-year-old.
Escandor, on the other hand, was signed to a one-year deal as the La Salle product serves as another piece to Rain or Shine’s wing position.
The 25-year-old is a proven winner as well. He was part of the Green Archers batch that won the UAAP gold medal last year.
Meanwhile, other draft picks like Fil-Am Caelan Tiongson and former NU Bulldog Mike Malonzo have yet to be signed by the Elasto Painters.
Drafted seventh overall, Tiongson is still with Strong Group Athletics in Taiwan for the ongoing William Jones Cup.
