PBA team Rain or Shine joined the list of sports clubs helping those in need in the midst of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The Elasto Painters have donated 14 sacks of rice to Cainta, Rizal.
Mike Nieto himself — the team’s selection in the Gilas round of the 2019 PBA Rookie Draft and a proud son of Cainta — delivered the donations to mayor Kit Nieto.
“Maraming maraming salamat sa aking Rain or Shine Elasto Painters family sa pag-donate ng 14 na sako ng bigas para sa mga tao ng Cainta,” Nieto wrote in his Facebook post, Wednesday.
“Tulong tulong lang po tayo at makakaraos din po tayo. Ipapadala na po lahat ito kay Mayor Johnielle Keith Pasion Nieto ngayon.”
Mayor Kit, on the other hand, shared Mike’s post on his official Facebook account and expressed his gratitude.
Mike and his brother Matt have been active in helping Cainta since the start of the enhanced community quarantine Luzon has been put under as part of the measures in mitigating the virus.
Matt has been making calls to some companies to help out in terms of donations and they, fortunately, heeded to the call, including famed roasted chicken brand Chooks-to-Go.
Chooks-to-Go, through the leadership of President Ronald Mascariñas, has been sending packs of chicken that was distributed to the medical workers in Cainta Hospital and other parts of the province since last week.
