PSL: Mojica, San Juan overwhelm young Pampanga Royce, extend streak to 13


EGIE Boy Mojica banged in all his five triple tries and steered San Juan to an 86-77 victory over Pampanga Royce Hotel last Saturday night in the Manila Bankers Life-Pilipinas Super League Pro Division Second Conference Dumper Cup at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in San Fernando.

Mojica totaled 23 points, on top of two rebounds and an assist for the Kings, while Orlan Wamar had 17 markers, three boards, and seven dimes.

Michael Calisaan also added 15 and 10 as the Randy Alcantara-mentored San Juan crew scored a fitting follow-up to a 77-63 ripping of Batang Kankaloo-Caloocan last Feb. 27 and remained unscathed with a 13-0 mark in the meet presented by Dumper party-list, Winzir, and Skin Care Depot, co-presented by SCD Cosmetics, and supported by NET 25, Adcon, Wcube Solutions Inc., MDC, Unisol, Don Benitos, and Finn Cotton, with PBA and Gilas Pilipinas great Marc Pingris serving as Commissioner.

Pampanga Royce absorbed its second loss, counting an 87-90 defeat to defending champion Davao Occidental-Cocolife last Feb. 22, and slipped to 11-3 for third.

In other games, Archie Concepcion led six other teammates in double-digits with 18 points as the Pampanga G Lanterns mauled 1Munti 129-93, while Nueva Ecija also blasted San Pedro Laguna-ARS 118-85.

Raffy Verano paced Pampanga Royce with 16 points and six caroms, while Kenneth Villapando got 10 markers and five rebounds.
