PSL: Justine Baltazar thrills in Pampanga debut

The Pampanga G Lanterns emerged victorious against the Sta. Rosa Laguna with a final score of 78-70 in the Manila Bankers Life-Pilipinas Super League Pro Division Second Conference Dumper Cup, on Monday at Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in San Fernando.

The game was a showcase of the exceptional talent of Justine Baltazar, one of the country’s prized big men, who led the G Lanterns to their second straight win.

Baltazar, who is also a member of the Gilas Pilipinas national team training pool, displayed his skills in front of his home crowd. Hailing from Mabalacat City, he scored 14 points and grabbed 20 rebounds, proving to be an asset to his team’s victory.

Archie Concepcion, on the other hand, led the team with a game-high 20 points and two boards. King Caralipio and Kurt Reyson also contributed with 12 and 10 points, respectively.

The G Lanterns replicated their success from their previous game against 1Munti, which they won with a score of 129-93. This victory brought their record to 9-5, putting them in a tie with Boracay for sixth place.

The Lions, who came from a 133-74 win against San Pedro Laguna-ARS last Wednesday, were not able to secure a win against the G Lanterns.

Despite their slip in the game, they still hold a good record of 10-4, placing them in solo fourth place in the competition.

The Pilipinas Super League Pro Division Second Conference Dumper Cup is presented by Dumper party-list, Winzir, and Skin Care Depot. It is co-presented by SCD Cosmetics and supported by NET 25, Adcon, Wcube Solutions Inc., MDC, Unisol, Don Benitos, and Finn Cotton. PBA and Gilas Pilipinas great Marc Pingris serves as the Commissioner.
