The hits just keep coming for Perpetual Altas big man Prince Eze.
After becoming the second-ever foreign student-athlete to win All-Star Game Most Valuable Player honor, third-year Perpetualite Prince Eze is also tops in the statistical points race for tournament MVP after the first round.
Averaging 14.8 points on 52.4 percent shooting to go along with 17.2 rebounds and 2.2 blocks for the round, Eze collated 52.44 SPs to lead the league. And he has done it in their first year without Bright Akhuetie.
Still, the 21-year-old needs to lead Perpetual to the Final Four to secure the plum, as the Altas are currently 3-6 in the standings.
“I just do whatever I have to do to help us win,” said Eze, after leading the Saints to an 84-80 win over Team Heroes.
“We should win (though). This does not mean anything to me if we’re not winning.”
Second in the ladder is Lyceum big man Mike Nzeusseu. The Pirates sophomore is posting norms of 11.1 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks.
Completing the top five are CJ Perez and Javee Mocon, both sporting twin SPs of 47.56 points. EAC skipper Sidney Onwubere closed the mythical five of the first round with 47.11 SPs.
