Troy Rosario and Roger Pogoy are in the Big Dome bubble.
Gilas team manager Butch Antonio confirmed to Tiebreaker Times that the two players round out the national team’s pool for the Quezon City window of the 2023 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.
“Troy and Pogoy were just not able to join us during the photoshoot yesterday,” said Antonio, who is also the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas’ deputy executive director.
Pogoy had just recovered from a calf strain while Rosario is still banged up stemming from numerous injuries he suffered during the 2021 Philippine Cup.
With just two games remaining for the window, it is up to head coach Chot Reyes on whether he will field Pogoy and Rosario.
Gilas take on New Zealand on Friday and India on Sunday.
South Korea has pulled out of the window due to a COVID-19 outbreak within the team.
Both Rosario and Pogoy last played for Gilas during the first window of the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers in Jakarta.
Other PBA pros in the pool are Northport’s Robert Bolick and TNT’s Poy Erram, Kelly Williams, Kib Montalbo, and Gab Banal.
Completing the pool are San-En’s Thirdy Ravena, Toyama’s Dwight Ramos, free agent Juan Gomez de Liano, Overtime Elite’s Lebron Lopez, Angelo Kouame of Ateneo, and Gilas draftees William Navarro of Northport, Tzaddy Rangel of NLEX, and Jaydee Tungcab of TNT.
