PNVF extends Jorge De Brito’s stay as Alas Women head coach

Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) president Ramon “Tats” Suzara announced on Friday that Jorge Edson Souza de Brito would remain as the head coach of the Alas Pilipinas Women until the 33rd Southeast Asian Games.

Suzara announced the decision following Alas Pilipinas’ exhibition match against Powerful Daegu in South Korea.

“After careful consideration and consultation with the PNVF board, we have decided to retain Coach Jorge until the SEA Games 2025,” Suzara stated, emphasizing the importance of stability and support for the team’s upcoming endeavors.AVC-2024-Philippines-vs.-Australia-bronze-Jorge-De-Brito-9571 PNVF extends Jorge De Brito's stay as Alas Women head coach Alas Pilipinas News Volleyball - philippine sports news

The announcement comes as Thailand prepares to host the 33rd SEA Games from December 7 to 19 next year, marking a pivotal moment for Alas Pilipinas under de Brito’s leadership.

De Brito, initially contracted under the FIVB’s Empowerment Program, was set to conclude his three-year tenure this month.

However, public demand surged to retain him following Alas Pilipinas’ groundbreaking bronze medal victory at the Asian Volleyball Confederation Challenge Cup for Women last month.

With de Brito’s continued guidance and the unwavering support of fans and stakeholders, Alas aim to build on its recent successes and make a lasting impact on the international volleyball stage.
