PLDT overcame a tough challenge in the first two sets before dominating ZUS Coffee in the third, securing a 25-23, 25-23, 25-13 victory. The win marked a strong bounce-back for the High Speed Hitters in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference on Saturday at the Filoil Centre.
Coming off a straight-set loss to Cignal, PLDT quickly recovered, spoiling the return of Thunderbelles head coach Jerry Yee—who had missed the team’s last four games due to health issues—and improving their record to 4-1.
The High Speed Hitters battled ZUS Coffee in a tense, back-and-forth duel in the first two sets before opening up a 12-5 lead in the third, which snowballed into a commanding 21-8 advantage. From there, PLDT never looked back.
PLDT will next face Farm Fresh on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the same venue, aiming for back-to-back wins.
Meanwhile, the Thunderbelles remain at the bottom of the 10-team standings with a 1-5 record. ZUS Coffee will seek its second win of the tournament against Cignal on Thursday at 4 p.m.
