PLDT recovers from loss, dominates ZUS Coffee in PVL AFC

PLDT overcame a tough challenge in the first two sets before dominating ZUS Coffee in the third, securing a 25-23, 25-23, 25-13 victory and marking a strong bounce-back in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference on Saturday at the Filoil Centre.

Coming off a straight-set loss to Cignal, the High Speed Hitters quickly recovered, spoiling the return of Thunderbelles head coach Jerry Yee — who had missed the team’s last four games due to health issues — and improving their record to 4-1.

The High Speed Hitters battled ZUS Coffee in a tense, back-and-forth duel in the first two sets before opening up a 12-5 lead in the third, which snowballed into a commanding 21-8 advantage. From there, PLDT never looked back.

PLDT will next face Farm Fresh on Thursday at 6:30 PM at the same venue, aiming for back-to-back wins.

Meanwhile, the Thunderbelles remain at the bottom of the 10-team standings with a 1-5 record. ZUS Coffee will seek its second win of the tournament against Cignal on Thursday at 4:00 PM.
