Platinum, Limitless dispute PBA 3×3 first conference supremacy

Platinum Karaoke and Limitless App will vie for the right to become the first-ever PBA 3×3 grand champions, Wednesday night at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.

The guest team was the first to clinch a spot in the grand finale after ending the Cinderella run of Terrafirma through a dominant 21-10 conquest.

Chris De Chavez and JR Alabanza finished with seven points each as the two presided over Platinum’s breakaway that overwhelmed their banged-up foes.

The game was tied at 2-all early but De Chavez found Yutien Andrada sliding to the rim for a lay-up, sparking a 10-1 run for a 12-3 advantage with 5:25 to go.

A Karl Dehesa two-pointer off another De Chavez assist pushed their lead to double digits, 17-6, approaching the final three minutes.

Andrada finished with four points while Dehesa added three for Platinum, who has a chance to atone for their heartbreaks in the previous stops.

Dhon Reverente led Terrafirma with six points.

On the other hand, Limitless arranged a title showdown with Platinum after showing TNT the exit doors by way of a 21-16 decision.

Jorey Napoles sank the game-winning two-pointer with 1:44 left to play to smash the Tropang Giga’s comeback hopes.

The lanky winger out of TIP finished with six points.

Reymar Caduyac and Brandon Ganuelass-Rosser produced seven points apiece, while veteran bruiser Marvin Hayes added a point.

The Tropa were led by Almond Vosotros’ eight points. He was the one who lifted his side to within one, 11-10, approaching the midway mark.

Lervin Flores had five points, while Samboy De Leon and big man Chris Javier combined for three markers in the defeat.

Platinum and Limitless will not only duke it out for supremacy in the PBA’s halfcourt competitions, but for P750,000 as well.

TNT and Terrafirma, meanwhile, will figure in a battle for third place, where the winner will also take home P100,000.
