After failing to grab the Pacific Xtreme Combat Flyweight Championship, “The Slugger” Crisanto Pitpitunge returns to the PXC cage after just two months.
The Team Lakay flyweight opened the calendar year in a barn-burner of a match against Jinel Lausa for the vacant PXC Flyweight Championship last January 16 during the PXC 51 card held at the Solaire Grand Ballroom in Pasay City. Pitpitunge and Lausa slugged it out for 25 minutes but ultimately succumbed to Lausa’s pressure in the fifth and final round. Lausa was able to win the bout by split decision to win the vacant flyweight crown.
Itching to comeback and set-up a rematch, Pitpitunge (8-4), after just two months, will fly to Guam to take part in the undercard of PXC 52 to be held at the UOG Calvo Field House on Friday, March 18. “The Slugger” is set to take on 22 year old Kiwi “Don’t Blink” Kara-France.
Kara-France made his PXC debut last December against Josh Deunas. “Don’t Blink” lived to his name as he knocked out Duenas in just 22 seconds of action in the first round for 11th career win in 17 bouts, his fourth straight win. His last loss was against current ONE Championship bantamweight Mark Striegl last October 2014 during MIMMA’s Malaysian Invasion 2: Grand Finals event.
