Philippines U-23 bows out of Sealect Open as gallant stand falls short against 3BB

After a shaky start to their campaign, the Philippine Women’s Under-23 National Volleyball team put up a valiant stand on Saturday.

However, it was still not enough as the Nationals yielded to 3BB Nakornnont in straight sets, 20-25, 12-25, 15-25, in the 2019 Thailand Open Sealect Tuna Championships campaign, at the V Sommai Gymnasium in Sisaket.

With the loss, the Philippine team will now return to the country with a 0-2 record on top of a plentiful experience.

The Nationals shrugged off the jitters that had hampered them in their opening bout. Figuring in a nip-and-tuck affair in the early going, the youth-laden team even threatened to take the first set against a much mature squad.

However, despite the scoring exploits of Angel Canino and the rest of the squad, the club team out Thailand proved to be too much.
