Philippines to host FIVB Men’s World Championship in 2025


The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) and Volleyball World have named the Philippines as the  host of the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship in 2025.

The global event is slated to kick off from September 12 to 28, promising an exhilarating clash of the globe’s top 32 volleyball squads all vying for the coveted championship.

The Philippines secured its spot as the host nation with a stellar proposal, according to the FIVB.

The decision, following meticulous evaluation by the FIVB and Volleyball World, underscores the nation’s dedication to fostering the sport’s growth worldwide.

Dr. Ary S. Graça F°, President of FIVB, expressed his anticipation, stating, “This prestigious event will not only inspire a new generation of athletes but will also help to encourage increased participation in sport at all levels in the country and wider region.”

Echoing the sentiment, Finn Taylor, CEO of Volleyball World, emphasized the Philippines’ capability to deliver an outstanding championship, stating, “This decision underscores our dedication to expanding volleyball’s global footprint and engaging with fans worldwide.”

The bid, spearheaded by the Philippine government, showcased a collaborative effort across various sectors, including key executives, administrative departments, the Philippine Volleyball Federation (PNVF), and private stakeholders, demonstrating the nation’s readiness to host a world-class sporting spectacle.

Senator Pia Caytano expressed her excitement, highlighting the opportunity to showcase Filipino hospitality and culture to the world.

“Our country is a volleyball-loving country. And it is with great pleasure that we welcome FIVB and Volleyball World to the Philippines,” she stated.

As part of the event, the Philippines’ Secretary of Tourism, Christina Frasco, outlined plans to integrate the “LOVE THE Philippines” campaign, spotlighting the country’s beauty and hospitality to a global audience.

PNVF President Tats Suzara assured top-notch arrangements for all participating teams, affirming, “If you love volleyball then you will surely love the Philippines.”
