PFL: Dominant second half propels ADT past Maharlika Manila

The Azkals Development Team barged into the win column with a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Maharlika Manila in the 2022-2023 Philippines Football League, Saturday afternoon, at the historic Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila.

The ADT managed to seize the lead in the 21st minute thanks to former UAAP Juniors Division standout Andres Aldeguer.

Maharlika’s Lawrence Baguio failed to clear the ball properly the former De La Salle Zobel striker latched on to it to score past goalie Vinci Valdez from a tight angle.

The ADT then doubled its lead early in the second half. Dominic Tom, who came in for Cyrelle Saut during the halftime break, tapped the ball home on the rebound after Valdez initially saved Chester Pabualan’s free kick in the 50th minute.

Stephan Schrock, ADT skipper, all but sealed the victory in the 54th minute when he unleashed a strong shot off his left foot to score his side’s third goal of the match.

Chester Pabualan then provided the ADT’s fourth goal of the game with a fantastic free kick in the 68th minute.

The result means that the ADT gets three points for the first time this season behind one win and one loss.
