Petro Gazz to name new head coach after Almadro promotion

Oliver Almadro will no longer call the shots on the sidelines for Petro Gazz.

After just two conferences, the Angels have promoted Almadro to head of the company’s volleyball operations.

This was the same position held by Jerry Yee a few years back when Arnold Laniog was the head coach of Petro Gazz.

Almadro took over Petro Gazz prior to the start of the All-Filipino Conference, replacing Rald Ricafort — who transferred to PLDT.

Under his watch, he steered the Angels to the finals of the first conference.

Petro Gazz lost in three games to Creamline in the three-game finale.

In the Invitational Conference, Petro Gazz finished in ninth place.

Almadro was also recently named as volleyball program director of Colegio de San Juan de Letran while also coaching the Lady Knights.

The Angels is expected to announce their new head coach later this week.
