Petro Gazz makes quick work of Cignal to go to 2-1 in PVL


BACARRA, ILOCOS NORTE — Petro Gazz zoomed to its second win after demolishing Cignal in three sets, 25-22, 25-18, 25-21, in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference here at the PCV Socio-Civic and Cultural Center, Friday night.

Petro Gazz put up a five-point cushion capped orf by a Ria Meneses drop, 16-11, to enter the second technical timeout of the third set.

A flurry of errors from the Angels, followed by a May Luna hit, tied the scores at 20.

Ces Molina, however, sparked a 4-0 spurt to put Petro Gazz at match-point.

Luna kept things going for the HD Spikers but a block from the Angels sealed the 25-21 win.

Petro Gazz moved up to 2-1 while Cignal dropped to a 1-2 standing.

The Angels took the first set, 25-22, before unleashing hell in the second set for a 2-0 advantage, 25-18.

Petro Gazz will go up next against PLDT on Tuesday at 6:00 PM while Cignal will take on Choco Mucho on the same day at 3:00 PM.
