Perlas-Cignal game moved to another date due to precautionary measures

LAOAG, ILOCOS NORTE — The game between Perlas and Cignal, set to take place on Saturday, has been cancelled for precautionary measures.

Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Manotoc has requested the league to postpone the supposed second game of Saturday’s tripleheader. He said that players from Perlas need to yield another negative RT-PCR result so that it can proceed to the competition.

All 16 members of Perlas’s contingent already yielded negative RT-PCR tests prior to heading for Laoag and on Thursday.

“This is just a precautionary measure set by the Ilocos Norte LGU,” said commissioner Tonyboy Liao.

“We will be postponing the game between Perlas and Cignal to a later date.”

Last month, seven players and a coach tested positive for the coronavirus during their camp in St. Vincent Gym in Naguillan Road, Baguio.

All have fully recovered and are now here.

Due to the schedule change, the Chery Tiggo versus PLDT game will commence at 3:00PM, followed by defending Open Conference champion Creamline taking on Sta. Lucia at 6:00PM.
