The PBA is set to summon San Miguel Beermen players Arwind Santos and Renaldo Balkman for the altercations that occurred late in Game Two of the 2018 Commissioner’s Cup Finals, Sunday night.
The development was first reported by Spin.ph.
Santos was ejected from the ball game with 5:18 remaining for incurring a flagrant foul penalty two, after he hit Barangay Ginebra guard Scottie Thompson on the chest, decking the latter to the floor.
The 37-year-old star forward questioned the call after the match, which he and the defending champions won decisively, 134-109. Santos chipped in 14 markers in the victory that sent the best-of-seven series to one game apiece.
Meanwhile, Balkman will also be spoken to, as he was seen in the middle of a scrum moments after the Santos-Thompson fracas.
Balkman was seen doing his best to restore order as things got heated, when Chris Ross and Joe Devance went face-to-face after the former reacted to the latter’s apparent elbow, as Ross went down on a rebound attempt.
The Puerto Rican reinforcement – unlike Santos – was never called for any technical foul. He managed to finish the game despite having five personal fouls, and he produced 20 points, 11 rebounds, and three assists.
“Kakausapin ko lang,” league commissioner Willie Marcial said.
