PBA: Meralco, Alaska back in action this week

Meralco and Alaska return to action as the 2021 PBA Philippine Cup continues at the Don Honorio Ventura State University Gym in Bacolor, Pampanga.

Both teams have finally been cleared to play after missing last week’s action, as they were placed under the league’s health and safety protocols.

Per the schedule for Sept. 15-19, the Bolts will resume their campaign against Terrafirma on Thursday at 2:00 PM. They then battle Blackwater on Saturday.

Norman Black’s wards are presently second in the standings with a 5-2 record. They sit just behind sister team TNT, who improved to 8-1 last week.

The 2-4 Aces, on the other hand, will face reigning champions Barangay Ginebra San Miguel on Friday at 6:00 PM to start their grueling weekend.

After taking on the Gin Kings, Alaska will play the Tropang Giga the following night, and then the Dyip on Sunday.

The ball clubs’ return to action also meant that all 12 squads will be playing this week – a first time since the season’s resumption.

The elimination round, barring any hitches, could end by next week.
